Map of Central Melbourne

Location of Katz  Katz Apartments (Ozstays Pty Ltd) is located at 160 Little Lonsdale street.  Little Lonsdale lies between Lonsdale and LaTrobe Streets and Katz is just east of Russell street.  It is on the corner of Hayward Lane.

Location of University College  University College has co-ordinates C3 on the map. (I realise you can't see the numbers - but you can count down three squares.)  It is bordered by Royal Parade, Cemetery Road West and College Parade.  The main entrance is on College Parade.  Trams to/from the city travel along Royal Parade and then Elizabeth street or, Swanston street to RMIT.

RMIT City Campus Map

Map of 9th floor, Building 8.

From the Airport ---

----to University College:

You can take either a taxi (about AU$50) to the city, or there is a regular airbus (AU$15 each way)  which will drop you at Spencer Street Station.  From there, you can take any tram along either Collins or Bourke streets to Elizabeth St, and then catch a number 19 tram north along Elizabeth St until you get to College Crescent.

----to Katz Apartments:

Again, either a taxi direct to the door, or airbus and a tram straight up Bourke street.  Get off at Russell, and then it is a walk north along Russell street until you get to Little Lonsdale (3 small blocks).  You will find Katz on the left side of the street if you turn right out of Russell.

Travel Around Melbourne:

Travel on trams, buses and trains around Melbourne requires a Metcard which can be purchased on trams (if you have change) or at Train Stations.  Melbourne's inner suburbs are all in Zone 1 and the cards can be purchased for a variety of durations.  I have listed the current cost of the travel cards below.  (Note that this might change by January!)

Unfortunately, Connex (our privately owned public transport operator) will not grant concession to students that do not study in Victoria, so most of you will have to pay full fare for travel.

Note, however, that University College is within walking distance to RMIT University (approximately 20 minutes).

Duration Full Fare Concession
2 hour $3.10 $1.80
Daily $5.90 $3.10
Weekly $25.90 $12.40
Monthly $95.90 $48.30
